Igniting the Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura)

The Solar Plexus Chakra, or Manipura, is located in the upper abdomen and is the center of our personal power, self-discipline, and confidence. Its color is yellow and its element is fire. A healthy Solar Plexus Chakra helps us feel empowered, motivated, and in control of our lives.
When Manipura is out of balance, we may struggle with low self-esteem, indecisiveness, or a lack of energy and direction. Yoga practices that activate the core and build heat help to stoke the inner fire and bring vitality to this area.
Asanas for the Solar Plexus Chakra:

Navasana (Boat Pose): Strengthens the abdominal muscles and boosts willpower and determination.
Phalakasana (Plank Pose): A full-body strengthener that challenges endurance and activates core energy.
Ardha Matsyendrasana (Half Lord of the Fishes Pose): A twisting pose that stimulates digestion and clears energetic blockages in the torso.
Practice Tip: Engage your core and focus your breath in the belly. As you move through your practice, visualize a golden flame in your solar plexus growing brighter and more vibrant with each breath.
