The Sacral Chakra, or Svadhisthana, is located just below the navel and governs our creative energy, pleasure, emotional flow, and relationships. It is associated with the color orange and the element of water. A balanced Sacral Chakra allows us to experience life through feelings and sensations and to express ourselves freely.
When this chakra is blocked or imbalanced, we may feel creatively stuck, emotionally numb, or overly dependent on others. A yoga practice that encourages fluid movement and deep hip opening can help us reconnect to this center.

Asanas for the Sacral Chakra:
Baddha Konasana (Bound Angle Pose): Opens the hips and stimulates pelvic energy. It's especially effective for reconnecting to our emotional and sensual selves.
Apanasana (Knees-to-Chest Pose): A gentle release that helps us let go of emotional and physical tension.
Hip Circles (Sufi Rolls): These rhythmic movements increase the flow of prana and encourage creative, intuitive movement.
Practice Tip: Invite creativity into your flow. Move with intention, breathe deeply, and explore organic transitions between poses. Let go of rigidity and allow the body to move like water.
This week at People’s Yoga, we welcome you to move fluidly, to feel deeply, and to tap into the joy of creative expression through your practice. Release your sacral chakra with one of our yoga flows.
